Message from Sacramento: the protests are about how UC chose to implement the cuts.
Message from Oakland: the protests are about how the legislature cut UC's budget.
Message from the Gov: everyone has to tighten the belt, protests don't matter.
Message from the self-appointed experts on university efficiency: no more state funding until you hire us to figure out how to cheapen everything.
